James A. DickinsonMBBS, PhD, CCFP, FRACGP
James Dickinson has been a Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health Sciences at University of Calgary since 2002. He is a Family Physician with special interest in screening and preventive care, especially for cancer and immunization. He has worked in medical schools in Australia (where he wrote his PhD on Preventive Activities in General Practice), in the Department of Health in Canberra, and in Hong Kong. He has been involved in development of screening (including cervical screening policies) in these countries, and also since returning to Canada, both in Alberta and on National Committees. He also runs the Alberta surveillance system for influenza, and participates in research about effectiveness of immunisation.
