Michael KiddAM FAHMS
Michael Kidd is a family doctor, Professor and Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto, and Senior Innovation Fellow with the Women’s College Hospital Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care. He is a cross-appointed researcher with both the Institute of Medical Science and the Wilson Centre in Healthcare Education at the University of Toronto. He is a medical graduate from The University of Melbourne, and has a doctorate in medical education research from Monash University. His academic experience includes eight years as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Flinders University in Australia, and 13 years as Professor and Chair of the Department of General Practice at The University of Sydney. He is a past president of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and immediate past president of the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA). He is an elected fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and has served as a consultant to the World Health Organization, World Bank and UNAIDS. In the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2009 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia for his services to medicine and education.
