If you are under 30 and sexually active, it’s a good idea to get tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea. They are the most commonly reported bacterial sexually transmitted infections in Canada.

It’s a good idea to get tested if you’ve ever had oral, vaginal or anal consensual sex.

Why?

  • Many people don’t have symptoms
  • Chlamydia and gonorrhea can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease, pain and possibly infertility
  • Antibiotics can treat these infections
  • Testing is easy
