Gail Macartney

Dr. Gail Macartney is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Prince Edward Island where she teaches in the primary care nurse practitioner program. Gail studied at McGill University, the University of Toronto and obtained her PhD in nursing from Queen’s University. Gail is a licensed nurse practitioner who maintains clinic practice in concussion care. She has broad-based nursing expertise in pediatric, adolescent and adult oncology patient populations across care settings stemming from her clinical work at the Ottawa Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Dr. Macartney is an active participant in nursing practice, education and research activities at the local, provincial and national levels. Her interests include understanding symptom trajectory and developing multidisciplinary, evidence-informed practice guidelines.
