John Riva

Dr. John Riva is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University. He completed his MSc in clinical epidemiology at the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact, at McMaster University. He has 20 years’ experience in chiropractic practice, with focus on musculoskeletal conditions in primary care. He is a member of the GRADE working group and an associate member of Cochrane Canada. He has contributed to various clinical practice guideline groups that use GRADE, in Canada and internationally: World Health Organization (WHO), World Allergy Organization (WAO), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health, American Society of Haematology (ASH), American College of Physicians (ACP), Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma (ARIA), Canadian National Pain Centre, and Canadian Chiropractic Guideline Initiative (CCGI). His area of interest relates to guideline methodology, with a particular interest in economics.
