General Information

The Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care was established by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) to develop clinical practice guidelines that support primary care providers (e.g., family physicians and nurse practitioners) in delivering preventive health care. The Task Force is composed of an independent body of experts who develop the guidelines based on a systematic analysis of scientific evidence and disseminate them across Canada.

How to contribute to Task Force

The Task Force involves members of the public in some of its activities. See below for more information on how you can participate. For all opportunities, we welcome participation from people across Canada.

• Usability Testing: For each of its guidelines, the Task Force develops knowledge translation tools to help practitioners and patients make preventive health care decisions related to the guideline. To ensure that the tools are useful, we recruit members of the public to provide feedback on them. If you are interested in reviewing and providing feedback on one of our upcoming guideline tools, please email Rossella Scoleri, research assistant, at ScoleriR@smh.ca for more information. Note that we offer $21 compensation for a one-hour teleconference focus group (no travel required).
• Patient Engagement in Guideline Development: The Task Force involves members of the public in its guideline development process. Specifically, the Task Force uses feedback from the public to guide the search for evidence on the guideline topic and to develop knowledge translation tools to accompany the guidelines. Note that we offer $50 compensation and all tasks are completed remotely (no travel required).
