Meet the TF-PAN team

Here’s a peek at the staff team behind the new Task Force Public Advisors Network (TF-PAN) who helped bring this citizen panel to reality. They share enthusiasm, dedication as well as a love of reading and staying active.

Sports (more watching than playing these days), hiking, cooking.

Sarah Deshpande, Patient Engagement

How long have you been with the Task Force?
Since February 2021

What excites you about the TF-PAN?
The TF-PAN brings together a group of diverse, passionate and enthusiastic people from across Canada who will provide input that will directly inform guideline development and dissemination. The feedback from the community jury is invaluable as it ensures that patient perspectives, opinions and experiences are not overlooked or ignored, but instead, actively incorporated into guidelines and tools.

I am so excited that through dialogue, education and collaboration, TF-PAN can be a space that allows for patient voices to be heard and valued.

What are your hobbies?
A benefit of staying at home amidst the COVID-19 pandemic is finding new and exciting ways to spend time! I love reading, hiking and finding new trails to explore, practicing yoga, and watching a good TV show or movie

What are your plans for 2021?
The year 2021 will hopefully bring along new joys and experiences. Starting this new position has been extremely exciting, and I hope to collaborate with new colleagues to generate solutions to complex problems within our current healthcare landscape.

I also hope that we will be able to slowly reconnect with loved ones from whom we have been physically isolated from for so long.
