RECOMMENDATIONS

  • There is little evidence to support the inclusion of Chlamydial genital infection as a condition to be screened for in a periodic health examination for the general population.
  • Screening and treatment of pregnant women may be beneficial in preventing infection in the newborn, but the efficacy of treatment has yet to be proven.
